To plan a trip, enter the desired starting and ending locations as the Trip Start and Trip End, respectively. You can use an address, intersection, or landmark name.

The default departure date and time are the current date and the current time. If you wish to plan a trip for a day in the future, enter that date in the specified format. Also, if you want to specify a different departure or arrival time, select either Leave At or Arrive At and enter the time.

By default, the Valley Metro Trip Planner minimizes Fewest Transfers. Instead, you may choose Fastest Way to find the fastest route, or you may choose Minimal Walking to walk the shortest distance in your trip.

The distance that you may walk to get to a bus stop or make a transfer is set to a maximum of 1/2 mile. You can change this value if you do not want to walk that far or if you are willing to walk further to get to a stop.

When all of the itinerary parameters are correct, select Plan Trip.
